The Details
The Bluewood is a renovated century home that has historic ties to the community. Originally serving as the home for those who farmed the land, it then served as a school house and even as a gathering place for bootleggers.
The home features 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, full kitchen and open concept living/dining area. A combination laundry room / butlers pantry serves as an extension of the kitchen for larger crowds.
There are two bedrooms with queen beds and seating areas, a bedroom with a double bed lastly the fourth bedroom features a 3/4 bed as well as a workspace for those who may need to work remote. *NOTE : A three quarter bed can comfortably fit two children or one teen/adult.
Outside you will find a large front porch with table for gathering around meals of fresh seafood, a fire pit and outdoor projector for fireside movie nights
Located 1 hour from Baddeck, 40 minutes to Inverness & 10 Minutes to Cheticamp it is the perfect home base for exploring the West / North West side of Cape Breton Island. restaurants, trails and local attractions nearby and of course, fresh seafood!
We pride ourselves on offering personal touches, fun, interactive features and attention to detail which is why you will find unique amenities such as customized playlists, an interactive bucket list, outdoor movie projector and are able to purchase goods on site such as coffee, honey, tea, soaps and more.
Pets and children are both welcome to join you on your trip as we know they are important aspects of the family. We provide a pack and play, change pad and booster highchair for the littles, as well as dog bowls, leads, poop bags for furry friends.

Jade was an exceptional Airbnb host! She was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Her place was fantastic—very clean, cute, and just an all-around great experience. This house was absolutely perfect for our two families (four adults and three kids under 3). The house is beautifully and thoughtfully renovated and had plenty of space for our energetic toddlers. We especially appreciated the kid friendly touches. The deck was an ideal spot for all of our meals and the proximity to both Cheticamp and the National Park could not have been better. Jade's recommendations were well curated and presented.
More Information
This is a century home and does not have air conditioning at this time, however we do provide a Dyson fan for the master as well as oscillating fans for each bedroom. Cape Breton is also known for its sea breezes
This accommodation is best suited for 6 adults or can sleep 8 with kids. We do not recommend sleeping 8 adults as it may feel a bit crowded.
There are two cameras on the outside of the house as well as a video doorbell. The cameras overlook each end of the driveway.
